Rabat is notable as the capital of Morocco and the residence of King Mohammed VI. After exploring Rabat, you’ll enjoy lunch there before continuing your journey to the ancient city of Fes.

You’ll have the chance to touch the smooth blue-and-white pottery and stroll past markets brimming with fresh fruit. The call to prayer will resonate through the city, reminding everyone of their spiritual duties. This is your opportunity to experience the authentic Fes. While you might not feel very hungry (because the best way to travel is by savoring every delicious roadside snack), you’ll eventually find yourself at one of the top restaurants in the medina. Imagine a table filled with an array of salads so plentiful that you won’t be able to try them all, knowing you need to save room for your main course—a hot tagine or steamed couscous. You’ll devour baskets of fresh khobz because it’s simply irresistible. Throughout the day, you’ll visit the tanneries (the scent is certainly memorable), the King’s Palace, and the potters. After a full day of exploration, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Today, you’ll explore the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, dating back 2,000 years. With a little imagination, you’ll be able to envision what life was like during the Roman Empire. The impressive structures and your knowledgeable guide will make this stop truly worthwhile.

Next, you’ll get a glimpse of one of Morocco’s holiest cities. This charming white-and-green town is home to the tomb of Mulay Idris, the founder of Fes.

After lunch, your guide will take you on a bus tour of Meknes, an imperial city and UNESCO World Heritage site. In the evening, return to your hotel or riad for dinner and a relaxing night.

After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your journey across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding through stunning forests, jagged rock formations, and traditional Berber villages as you make your way into the Sahara Desert. You’ll appreciate having your driver by your side, sharing insights about the landscapes you pass and expressing his passion for his country. He’ll also be happy to make stops along the way, whether it’s at his favorite lunch spot or to capture a photo in front of the breathtaking Atlas Mountains.

As you approach the Sahara, you’ll notice the air becoming drier.

This afternoon, you’ll eagerly anticipate your four-wheel drive adventure across the vast expanse of the majestic Sahara sand dunes. While you may have seen pictures of the Sahara, nothing can prepare you for its breathtaking reality. Dunes stretch endlessly in every direction, casting sharp shadows and showcasing soft ripples. Feel the warm sand beneath your toes in the cool morning air as you gaze over the sea of golden brown.

As evening approaches, you’ll have the opportunity to choose a camel for a ride to the Berber tents, where you can opt to spend the night.

Imagine falling asleep under a sky filled with more stars than you’ve ever seen in your life…

Wake up early and climb a tall dune to witness the sunrise in all its desert splendor. Imagine sipping fresh orange juice and enjoying Moroccan bread in the open air before riding your camel back. After your camel trek, you’ll switch to a 4×4 for the journey back to Erfoud.

From Erfoud, you’ll travel behind the High Atlas Mountains en route to the stunning Todra Gorges. Here, you’ll have the chance to stroll through the towering Todra Gorges, with massive walls of pink and gray rock rising 600 feet on either side. The scenic river valleys create a beautiful backdrop as you make your way southeast through Morocco.

This is a perfect opportunity to experience the rural side of Morocco after exploring its vibrant cities. You’ll spend the night either in the Gorges or in Ouarzazate.

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Your first stop will be at one of Morocco’s gems: Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. This collection of buildings showcases the distinctive architecture of southern Morocco and is rich in history and stunning scenery. In true Moroccan fashion, the most remarkable treasures are often found off the beaten path.

After lunch, you’ll continue your journey over the mountains to Marrakech.
